Be grateful you can be miserable with people

Be happy to be miserable with people over the holidays. Misery with company is infinitely better than being alone. There are many who would be tremendously happy to be terribly unhappy with someone. Many of those people are addicts. Addicts, for the most part, have histories of abuse, abandonment or–interestingly, they’ve been totally spoiled and never had to face consequences of their actions. You take any one of these conditions, add childhood, stir and you have a p for being alone on Christmas.  Just so you know the identities if the less fortunate–maybe you can spare a thought for those who have to be alone on the holiday.  Remember, if you’re mad at someone in the room with you, you’re luckier than many people. Merry Christmas.
